PennDOT's in the Field
Over the past several months, environmental specialists have been surveying private and public property and collecting information from local, state, county and federal agencies. In terms of natural resources, specialists are documenting wetlands; floodplains; streams, surface waters and watersheds; groundwater, terrestrial habitats, threatened and endangered species, and hazardous waste. Noise and air quality studies are also on-going. To collect cultural information, specialists are identifying historic properties and archaeological resources. PennDOT is committed to improving the I-95/US 322 interchange and upgrading I-95 and the Bethel Road interchange in a manner that minimizes overall impacts to these adjacent natural and cultural resources.
Engineers have also been collecting traffic information along I-95, Bethel Road, US 322 and their interchanges and at key intersections along cross routes. The purpose of this activity is to determine existing traffic volumes and operating conditions in the study area. This information and data on projected future traffic will be used to develop improvement alternatives for the project.

PennDOT's Listening!
PennDOT is interested in the views and opinions of the various stakeholders in the region with regard to improvements at the I-95/US 322 Interchange. Over the next several months, PennDOT and members of its consulting team will conduct interviews with township and city managers, local elected officials, school districts, major businesses, and emergency services and enforcement personnel to discuss the project. The results of these interviews will help PennDOT develop alternatives to meet the needs of residents, commuters and businesses.
